Seats on the sunny side

“Take a load of, sit down, enjoy, the sun” Gun Roswell

Seats on the sunny side

When the sun shines
Shines, so totally fine
Fine, is the whole wide world
World, open, out going, bright
Bright, as the sun shining
Shining, high up in the clear blue skies
Skies, so cool and blue
Blue, the great hue in contrast

Contrast to the colour filled ground
Ground, on to which a few seats
Seats, to sit on for rest
Rest, to enjoy the clear blue skies and sun
Sun, which under it is time to rest
Rest on the seats set
Set, under the sunny side of the world
World, which enjoys the season
Season of summer
Summer, when it’s time to relax
Relax, on these seats
Seats, on the sunny side of life

“Roaming around the country side” Gun Roswell

Cottage life 3

When finally hitting that side of the road
Road, which is leading to a place so quaint
Quaint, if you can imagine something very old school
School, which luckily is out for the summer
Summer, as I am headed for the country side
Side, on the road I currently am on
On, until I reach the little red cottage
Cottage, painted with a bright colour

Colour so strong, it can be seen from space
Space, is what this old hidden place has plenty
Plenty, like the nature surrounding the house
House, so small, you can hardly fit in
In, but then again, outside is the point
Point of this cottage in the country side
Side of somewhere else, anywhere else
Else but where I usually dwell
Dwell, exist, live, maybe, but usually not

Not, as it’s mainly work and daily grind
Grind, which here, is only used for flour
Flour to create the daily bread
Bread, which is really good to eat
Eat, like what ever goodies the land provides
Provides me, while I am here in this place
Place, far away from the outer world
World so different, from this, country side
Side, which this road I am on will lead me
Me, for this summer, going completely country

“Something so quaint about living in a small red cottage” Gun Roswell

Cottage Life 2

In the tiniest of any imaginable communities
Communities built only for the summer season
Season which only comes once a year
Year with a winter so long, it almost snows
Snows until midsummer is upon
Upon when the time has come
Come for the summer, to finally start
Start as does the life for most of those
Those people who live her up north
North where the sun almost never shines
Shines only, during the precious summer time

Time when all life is growing and flowing
Flowing across the land becoming so green
Green, so lush, it’s nothing like anyone has seen
Seen now, as it’s all recorded on to celluloid
Celluloid is preserving the summer sensations
Sensations with which to get through the dark ages
Ages that will start with the coming of fall
Fall, when time and nature stalls

Stalls, falls, into a deep slumber
Slumber and then again woken in the next summer
Summer, when it’s time to pack up
Up all the belongings and move to a tiny house
House that is painted in the colour red
Red as the burning core of the sun
Sun which only shines during this season
Season of the summer cottage time

I Wrote (Happy birthday to me!)

” I am a sort of a writer, I think, a kind of an author, or something similar I suppose, well, at least I write every day, so, you figure it out!” Gun Roswell

I Wrote

I wrote, when I was five
Barely even beginning my life
With colourful crayons on drawing paper
Never even thinking of saving it for later
A script of Father Christmas on the way
With his reindeer and a hug slay
A make shift theatre stage
Making sure the folks weren’t late
For the premier of the show
Even if they would say, it was too much snow!

I wrote, when I was fifteen
Or then it might have started already at thirteen
But, when my favourite television series ended
And all the time on it I had invested
I decided to give it a continuation of sort
Even though my English language skills kind of short
Writing with a pen on paper, as the type writer came later
When the master piece was finally done, I felt proud
I read it to my step-sister out loud
And the spark, caught on fire, as she too, became a poetry writer

I wrote, when I was twenty-five
My first ever script, on a PC, a windows zero point nine
(Well not really, as there was no operating system back then
When, the dinosaurs ruled the earth and I was ten)
A story apparently too American, as the Finns told me, nope not fans
So, I wrote something else too
Even for another series or few
But in those days, the world wide web
Really did not exist, so guess I them myself dismissed
Now placed somewhere in the forgotten files land
It’s fine, it’s really alright, they really weren’t that grand

I wrote, when I was thirty
As I got another bug actually
For a work-related project
Instead of a power point presented
I made a short film scripted, then another and a third
The boss told me, it was unheard
But upon completion, there was a legion
Of coworkers watching the show
And in the end, from all the clapping I needed to take a bow
A success story of the time, making me feel fine

I wrote, when I was forty
When a new thing called the Internet was taking over all of me
I wrote some fiction, fan and other wise
I dabble in poetry too, erotic too, but in disguise
Posting on line, yes, that was the time
When it all started, and I guess until today, never really ended
The forums, the bases, for every kind of phrases
It was all so new and such fun
And that my dear ones, was not even a pun!
But then I stopped for a while, like it happened so many times

I wrote, when I was fifty
I had heard of a thing called a blog(?)
So, I asked around, and this is what I found:
I was able to create a sight of my own
On this great big platform well known
And post a writing each and every single day
Then get some feedback and likes, if I just played!
So, I started with a supposedly good idea, just from the top of my head
“Rantings of a third kind, with everything and nothing”, where ever it lead
Poems, pictures, stories and songs
Even a serial or two, but none of them too strong
But the key word was networking and boy did I that do
And now after five years, I have a reader or few!

I wrote, just yesterday
And today, I keep on writing
Keep on fighting,
The good fight!
Well not really 😉
As now, I truly know, that someone is reading
My poetry, my stories, my songs
Even if none of them may be too strong
Why?
Because I knew it all a long
That I am a writer no matter what I think or say
And one of these days, I may even write a really good play
So, please, don’t go away; Stay!
There will be so much more
And maybe, just maybe
One day, I too will big score!

And a Happy Birthday to me!

“Summer at Gramʼs cottage can be such fun” Gun Roswell

Cottage life 1

Life in summer is so simple
Simple even if you have to mow the lawn
Lawn growing so fast every day
Day you wish it was just raining
Raining, even pouring to inside just stay
Stay until you get so bored
Bored enough the tiniest of chores
Chores such as mowing the damned lawn
Lawn big enough to build a hall
Hall to do some fancy dancing
Dancing as itʼs so much fun

Fun you can do outside
Outside because itʼs summer
Summer with such good weather
Weather almost always sunny
Sunny with a warm breeze
Breeze which makes you feel
Feel that this season
Season of warmth and flowers

Flower filling the garden
Garden where the grass is green
Green and forever growing
Growing until it needs mowing
Mowing which Iʼll gladly do
Do as long as I can live in summer

Monochromatic Madness

“Let’s try to see the world in black and white today” Gun Roswell

Monochromatic Madness

Today I see everything, in black and white

Why?

I just guess I was too tired, to argue, what is wrong and what is right?
And the n finally, giving up the eternal fight:

Of constantly proving, that other colours do exist
But, that you, just have to, really let
Them inside of your own, tiny and closed world
And then completely, in to the colours get hurled

Because, building up a view, of two colours only
Might end up being, a scene much too lonely
But if you are willing, to sink in there boldly
Then, whenever you find yourself, in total dismay
You just might end up, seeing all the shades, of grey

The nuances of the monochromatic
Some of them, are oh so dramatic
And soon, you realize, it’s not so bad after all
It’s actually quite the opposite, even fantastic!

So, I guess, when the two or more colours mix
A gorgeous pallet of various shades does exist
And it’s all, going to be really, really great!
And that’s what matters after all, in the end!
